Office Manager

Job Description:

Reports to: The Assistant Director in the Corporate Secretary’s Department.

Responsibilities:

  • The Office Manager position serves as the operational foundation of the Kuujjuaq Offices. The role ensures that front-line services, facilities, administrative support functions, communication systems, inventory management, and workplace operations run efficiently and consistently;
  • Through effective supervision, coordination, and organization, the Office Manager helps maintain a productive environment that supports Executives, employees, management, visitors, and Corporation-wide activities while reinforcing Makivvik’s standards of service and professionalism;
  • Manage a team of 2 receptionists, 1 Messenger and 3 janitors;
  • Assist the Department with various activities: Lease management, Mail Service, Security, Office space, Telephone service, Reception and Messenger Services;
  • Overseeing of the inventory of the office supplies, janitorial supplies and cargo and sealift orders;
  • Assist in the preparation of various meetings and events of the Corporation in Kuujjuaq: such as weekly Executive Meetings, Employee Day and Christmas party;
  • Responsible for Makivik Internal Directory for Kuujjuaq;
  • Replace receptionist when required;
  • Any other duties requested by Executives and the Corporate Secretary and/or the Department Head;
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma;
  • Experience in a related field;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut and in English is required, French is an asset;
  • Effective Computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Ability to manage and lead a team;
  • Reliable, organised and autonomous;
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence;
  • Security clearance is required.

Training will be available for Beneficiaries in the advancement for their career.
