About Us
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to fostering justice through culturally sensitive practices.
The Makivvik Justice Department aims to encourage Inuit to be involved in the justice system and to work towards self-determination. We are dedicated to the well-being of individuals, families, and the community, while also addressing the underlying causes of crime.
Our team is composed of individuals who bring diverse life experiences and profound cultural perspectives, allowing us to provide essential support to the community throughout various stages of the justice and correctional journey.
Our devoted management team works closely with our front-line workers to provide vital support in their daily efforts.
This team collaborates seamlessly to introduce innovative programs aimed at assisting Nunavimmiut in navigating the challenging judicial process.
Together, we are committed to making a profound difference in the lives of those we serve, guiding them towards breaking the cycle and embarking on a transformative journey towards harmony.
