Manager – Ungaluk Program
Job Description:
Reports to: Assistant Director – President’s Department
Location: Nunavik
Status of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the full implementation and coordination of the Ungaluk Program and the file team
- Ensure proper communications with proponents and regional organizations
- Develop and maintain a communication strategy with Nunavimmiut at large regarding the program, its objectives and activities;
- Ensure that proponents provide and report on the activities and expenses
- For the review and process of applicants, follow-up for funding proposals;
- Manage the human resources of the division
- Undertake standardized reviews of the program guidelines and database structure to ensure itis kept up to date
- Be available to travel as needed
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Possess a DEC in Project Management, relevant experience will be recognized
- Minimum 5 years experience in management or strategic role
- Traditional Inuit knowledge is an Asset
- Strong leadership, communication and planning skills required;
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in French would be an asset;
- Reliable and autonomous;
- Solid, practical word processing skills;
- Good knowledge of accounting procedures and budget management
- Effective communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
- Effective Computer skills : Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
- Security clearance is required.
