Training and Development Officer
Job Description:
REPORTS TO: The Human Resource Manager in the Treasurer Department.
Responsibilities:
- Implement external and internal training plans for employees;
- Maintain Employee Training Records;
- Implement and oversee orientation program for new hires to the organization;
- Assist in creation of developmental plans for employees;
- Oversee internships/summer students program implementation;
- Working on training files in collaboration with other organizations;
- Ensure funding applications are completed and funding agreement requirements are met;
- Make recommendations on training needs;
- Ensure compliance with training requirements of provincial, federal, and regional bodies;
- Create annual corporate training calendar based on company needs and interests;
- Have an understanding of e-learning techniques, including limitations, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages;
- Create and maintain a training resource database;
- Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting this research;
- Participate in recruitment activities such as career fairs, information sessions, and other HR related activities;
- Be available to travel, as requested;
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma;
- Two (2) years of related experience in training and professional development or equivalent;
- Experience in education, human resources or project management, is an asset;
- Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
- Great computer skills : Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
- Ability to work independently and a good team player;
- Demonstrate experience in multitasking, being organized and punctual;
- Energetic, determined, and creative;
- Solution focused;
- Able to work under pressure;
- Comfortable writing reports and presentations;
- Excellent communication skills.
