Janitor

Job Description:

REPORTING TO:                The Office Manager in the Corporate Secretary Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and provide coffee, tea and other refreshment for staff and guests, as required;
  • Sweep and wash floors;
  • Clean dishes;
  • Remove garbage from offices;
  • Clean and disinfect offices and common areas;
  • Servicing, cleaning and supplying of restrooms;
  • Clean apartment buildings upon request;
  • Clean other buildings owned by Makivik upon request;
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies;
  • Any other duties requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, is an asset;
  • Six (6) months of related experience in janitorial work, required;
  • Familiarity with the use of cleaning supplies and equipment;
  • Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
  • Ability to collaborate and take initiative;
  • Reliable, punctual and autonomous;
  • Time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently, also a great team player.
