Investment Accounting Clerk
Job Description:
Reports to: The Investment Manager in the Treasurer’s Department
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process loan deposits and requests for withdrawals in accordance with internal procedures.
- Record and maintain accurate investment-related journal entries.
- Verify, monitor, and maintain records of investment holdings and transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and calculation of investment portfolio returns.
- Update and maintain records for dividends, interest income, market values, and supporting investment documentation.
- Monitor loan repayments to ensure calculations are accurate and payments are received on time.
- Assist with the preparation, assembly, and distribution of materials for Investment Review Committee meetings.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date investment files and documentation.
- Be available to travel, as requested.
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- AEC or DEP in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of relevant accounting or financial administration experience.
- Experience with Sage 300 or similar accounting software is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability and willingness to learn additional systems and applications.
- Knowledge of, or interest in, investments and portfolio accounting is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is required; Inuktitut and French is considered an asset.
- Security clearance is required.
