Receptionist
Job Description:
Reports to: Corporate Administrator
Responsibilities:
- Operate the switchboard for the St. Laurent Office and manage incoming calls efficiently
- Greet visitors and respond to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
- Place long-distance and conference (three-way) calls as required
- Take accurate messages and forward them to the appropriate personnel
- Sort, distribute, and manage incoming and outgoing mail, including preparing and dispatching mail
- Open and prepare Kuujjuaq/Montreal mail pouches
- Assign waybill numbers and maintain accurate tracking records
- Assign purchase orders and maintain records with appropriate budget codes
- Send, receive, and ensure proper functioning of fax communications and related equipment
- Provide administrative support, including typing correspondence and preparing documents
- Prepare waybills and purchase orders as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
- Monitor and maintain stockroom inventory; notify the appropriate personnel when supplies need replenishment
- Assist in preparing beverages (coffee, tea) for meetings and ensure kitchen supplies (milk, cream) are stocked
- Support meeting logistics, including preparation of meeting binders
- Be available to travel, as requested;
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education considered an asset
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated ability to provide friendly, efficient, and intuitive service
- Strong punctuality and reliability
- Willingness to learn and participate in training as required
- Good organizational and multitasking skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to perform administrative tasks
- Fluency in Inuktitut and English is required; French is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Nunavik Inuit culture, society, and language is considered important
- Security clearance is required.
