The Harvester Support Grant is a federal program created in 2019 at the request of Inuit to increase the number of country food sharing initiatives and increase the number of hunters engaging in these activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Makivvik signed an initial agreement with Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada of $7,156,250 for five years, which was topped off for a total of $19,070,750.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Makivvik\u2019s Department of Environment, Wildlife and Research administers the fund and makes it available for local and regional projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
